Ghee Fried Apples

Interested in a warm, yummy, comfort food to start your day out right? With Winter we like to have these warm and yummy. It's on the lighter side but with the ghee (clarified butter). Ghee is a good source of healthy fats, including omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for overall health. These fats can help keep the body warm during winter and provide energy. Additionally, ghee is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, which support immune function, bone health, and skin health..

So let's dive into an easy quick recipe for the morning, or maybe, for the evening too.

You will need the following ingredients:

2 tsp ghee

1/2 tsp every day sweet spice mix (3 ingredients for that shown below)

1 large apple, cored and sliced

1 tbsp raisins or chopped figs (optional) I like adding raisins

To Make

Warm the ghee and spice mix in a small frying pan on medium heat. Add the apple slices to the pan and stir to coat all the pieces. Fry on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring. Add a tablespoon or two of water to keep the apples from sticking to the pan. and fry for 2-3 minutes more, until tender. For a variety add the raisins or chopped figs! Transfer to a bowl and enjoy as is. So yummy!

Every Day Sweet Spice Mix

¼ cup cinnamon powder
¼ cup ginger powder
2 tablespoons ground cardamom

Add the above to a shaker and enjoy!
